Skating Achievements.

I am the 2005 New England Regional Senior Men Champion and placed as an alternate in the Eastern Sectional Championships. I have competed in the Regional and Sectional championships for the last 5 years. In addition to my skating achievements in America, I was the Scottish Champion from Beginner through Senior and have competed in many national events in the United Kingdom. I was the Scottish Team Captain for home internationals against England.

I am a current member of US Figure Skating's Test Committee and served on the Collegiate Committee for 2 years.  I directed the  Silver Blades Skating Club Basic Skills curriculum for 5 years organizing their Basic Skills competition, and starting Tots, advanced Freestyle and Pairs programs. I am also a delegate from Yarmouth Ice Club to NEICC and US Figure Skating’s Governing Council.

I participated in the opening of the 2001 US National Championships with the Boston Ice Theater, as well as several years of opening the Frog Pond in Boston.

I operate IceAudio which edits and creates unique music for skaters of all levels, from Beginner through International. I have also had my music used for several ice shows.

Scholastic Achievements.

Outside of skating I have a B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry with Information Technology and Instrumentation from Glasgow Caledonian University. At college and high school, I was heavily involved in many extra curricular activities including student-staff council in college, and the music department in high school.

Goals.

I teach all levels of Freestyle and Moves in the Field, along with beginner level Pairs, from pre-school through adult. I also choreograph the majority of my own programs along with all my students programs. My goals in teaching are to better the individual and not just teach them how to skate. I encourage my students to learn what they are doing, instead of relying on me to teach them. I feel that this approach creates a better individual who is better suited to life when they graduate from school.
