Who May Compete This competition is open to all eligible skaters who are members in good standing of the USFS. Skaters may enter as many events as they choose for which the skater is qualified.  A SKATER MAY COMPETE AT ONE LEVEL HIGHER THAN THE SKATER'S CURRENT TEST LEVEL.

Fees

Singles and Pairs  - All fees must accompany the entry form.
Competitors entering both singles and pair events must enter each event separately.
                                                                      $85.00 – 1st event
                                                                      $55.00 – 2nd event
                                                                      $45.00 – all subsequent event   
                                       Late Entries Fee - $30.00
Checks should be made out to: YARMOUTH ICE CLUB.  
Credit Cards – Payment for entry may be made by Visa, Mastercard, or Discovercard.

All fees must accompany the entry form.  There will be a $25.00 charge for returned checks. Re-submittal of the entry form will require a money order, certified check or cash.

ISU Judge System IJS will be used for Juvenile through Senior events                    
 

IJS GROUPS

ELIMINATION ROUNDS FOR JUVENILE THROUGH SENIOR WILL DEPEND ON THE NUMBER OF ENTRIES AND WILL BE AT THE DECRESION OF THE REFEREE AND THE LOC.  (This does not apply to restricted events)
Music Only CD’s will be accepted.  Clearly marked.  Be sure to bring a duplicate.
Rink One ice surfaces, measuring 195 x 100, will be used for competition.
Awards Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place for all events.
Accidents and Refunds In accordance with rule 3222 and 3235.  NO REFUNDS will be made because of competition cancellation due to acts of God.

Critique All Short Programs (except Juvenile) and Free Skating Programs for Juvenile, Open Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, Junior, and Senior will be critiqued immediately after the event.
Schedules & Practice Ice ALL COMPETITION INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED ON THE YARMOUTH ICE CLUB WEBSITE. NO CONFIRMATIONS WILL BE MAILED Group confirmation, directions, competition and practice ice schedules will be posted on or before FRIDAY, AUGUST 8TH.
Events All competition events will be governed by the 2008-2009 USFSA Rulebook.  The Competition Committee reserves the right to limit the number of entries in the category and to combine or divide groups as necessary.  The committee may eliminate events due to insufficient entries or limitations on the availability of ice time.

SHOWCASE EVENTS

Showcase is a form of skating in which the skater will be judged on the overall performance.  Eligibility rules of the corresponding free skate level apply to all Showcase events.  Length of all showcase programs must be within 1 ½ to 2 ½ minutes.  Competitors will be judged on the following categories:  Technical Merit, Costume, Music Interpretation, Choreography, and Audience Appeal.  Skaters may only enter one showcase event.   Girls and boys may be grouped together.  Costumes and only hand-held props must be appropriate and should not cause danger to the skater if placed on the ice.
The committee reserves the right to combine events if necessary.

RESTRICTED EVENTS

Restricted events will be limited to the required test elements

COMPULSORY MOVES

Skaters may enter any division provided they do not enter a division below the Free Skating Test level they have passed.  The moves will be skated like a program with connecting steps on half the ice surface, but to no music.  No turns or steps between jumps in the combination jump elements.

PRE-PRELIMINARY Salchow, Half Lutz, One-foot spin, Forward outside edges, Back inside edges.
PRELIMINARY RFI-LFI spirals, Back crossovers (one full figure eight), Flip Jump, Loop Jump, Sit spin, Waltz jump-toe loop combination jump (no turns or steps in between).
PRE-JUVENILE Loop Jump, Lutz jump, Flip-toe loop combination jump (no turns or steps in between), Front scratch to back scratch combination spin, RFI-LBO— Threes in the field, LFO/I power pulls.
JUVENILE  Axel jump, jump combination (single/single, single/double, or double/double) axel may not be repeated, and no steps or turns between jumps, one solo spin (no fly or change of foot or position), Combination spin with 1 change of foot and at least on change of position.  Circular step sequence utilizing half ice.

SPIN COMPETITION

No music will be played for this event.  Each element may only be performed one time and only stroking and edging necessary to prepare for the element will be allowed.  The elements may be preformed in any order.  Test qualifications are the same as the free skate events.  All levels will be competed on half ice.  DEDUCTIONS WILL BE MADE FOR ANY JUMPS PREFORMED.   Ladies and men may be grouped together.

Layback (ladies)/Sit Spin (men) – minimum 4 revolutions
Combination Spin: one change of position/one change of foot – minimum 4 revolutions per foot

Intermediate/Novice

Flying Camel Spin – minimum 5 revolutions
Forward to Back Sit Spin - minimum 5 revolutions
Combinations Spin: at least 1 change of position and 1 change of foot – minimum 5 revolution per foot

Junior/Senior

Camel change Camel Spin – minimum 6 revolutions per foot
Flying Sit Spin – minimum 8 revolutions in the sit position
Combination Spin: at least 2 changes of position and 1 change of foot – minimum 6 revolution per foot

JUMP COMPETITION

No music will be played for this event.  Pre-Preliminary through Juvenile will skate on ½ ice.  Intermediate through Senior will skate on full ice.  Skater may only attempt the jump elements once.  Only stroking and edging necessary to prepare for the jump will be allowed.   The elements may be preformed in any order.  Test qualifications are the same as the free skate events.  Ladies and men may be grouped together.
