MEMBERSHIP  CLASSIFICATIONS  &  FEES

July 2007 - June 2008

1. FAMILY SKATING MEMBERSHIP * - $300

Includes up to 3 skaters and two parents in the immediate family, residing at the same address.  Additional skaters at the cost of $20 each.  This category will accrue seniority and entitles the members to:

·        Represent Yarmouth Ice Club

·        YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club

·        U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skaters/parents

·        Ice reservation privileges on club session at Home Club rates

·        YIC Ice Shows and Exhibitions

·        Testing privileges on all YIC Test Sessions at member rates

·        Voting (2 votes per family)

·        Social Events

·        Eligible for club awards, grants and Scholarships (home club members only)

·        10 hour volunteer shift required by both skater and parent at Cranberry Open and other events and fundraisers.

 

2. SINGLE MEMBERSHIP * - $250

Membership for one skater and one parent.  This category will accrue seniority and entitles the member to:

·        Represent Yarmouth Ice Club

·        YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club

·        U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skater/parents

·        Ice reservation privileges on club sessions at Home Club Rates

·        YIC Ice Shows and Exhibitions

·        Testing privileges on all YIC Test Sessions at member rates

·        Voting (under 18 delegate to parent)

·        Social Events

·        Eligible for club awards, grants & scholarships (home club members only)

·        10 hour volunteer shift required by both skater and parent at Cranberry Open and other events and fundraisers

 

3. AFFILIATE (NON-REPRESENTING) MEMBERSHIP - $75

·        Does not represent Yarmouth Ice Club

·        Ice reservation privileges on club sessions at Affiliate rates 

·        Testing privileges on all YIC Test Sessions with priority over non-members but not home club members.

·        No Voting privileges

·        Social Events

·        8 hour volunteer shift required by both skater and parent at Cranberry Open and other events and fundraisers.  (Failure to participate will result in $100.00 fee.)

 

4. JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP * - $75

·        Membership for one skater for no more than 3 years unless board approved. 

·        Junior skater that has yet to test at the pre-pre level

·        YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club

·        U.S. Figure Skating membership for skater only

·        Ice reservation privileges on Club sessions at Home Club rates

·        YIC Shows and Exhibitions

·        Represents YIC at Basic Skills competitions

·        No voting privileges

·        Eligible for club awards, grants & scholarships (home club members only)

·        Social events

·        10 hours volunteer service required by both skater and parent at Cranberry Open and other events and fundraisers

·        If and when skater tests, the Single Membership fee will be pro-rated and one parent membership will be added.

 

5. INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP - $75

·        Membership for skaters from other countries who wish to skate with the Yarmouth Ice Club

·        Ice reservation privileges on club sessions at Home Club rates

·        YIC Ice Shows and Exhibitions

·        No voting privileges

·        If in the U.S., 8 hours volunteer service at Cranberry Open and other events and fundraisers required.

 

6. ADULT MEMBERSHIP * - $100   

·        Skaters must be 21 years or older

·        Represent Yarmouth Ice Club at Adult Competitions

·        YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club

·        U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skater

·        Ice reservation privileges on club sessions at Home Club rates

·        YIC Ice Shows and Exhibitions

·        Voting privileges

·        Social Events

·        Eligible for club awards & grants (home club members only)

·        10 hours of volunteer service across major club events (shows, exhibitions, Cranberry Open, etc.)

 

7. PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP - $85.00

Professional members must be approved by the YIC Board and agree to abide by the YIC Professional Code of Conduct.  This membership class is for the skating professional and entitles the member to:

·        Teaching privileges on club ice

·        YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club

·        Social Events

·        Home club membership to include U.S. Figure Skating membership - additional $35.00

·        Shall participate in club Learn To Skate program by donating 2 minimum 2 hours per week of coaching time.

·        Volunteer at competitions and shows.  Failure to participate will result in $100 fee.

 

8. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - $60

This membership is for supporters and full-time college students who wish to maintain YIC and U.S. Figure Skating membership and entitles the member to:

·        U.S. Figure Skating Membership

·        No voting privileges

 

9. PATRON MEMBERSHIP - $75 - Bronze        $100 - Silver      $150 - Gold

·        This membership is for the person who enjoys skating and would like to support the club.

·        US Figure Skating membership

·        No voting privileges unless they sit on the board.

·        Reduced price on tickets for shows, etc.

·        Invitations to social events

 

10. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP - No charge

·        This type of membership is appointed by the Board. 

·        Home Club Members enjoy home club privileges.  Non-representing members do not.

 

*$100.00 Activity Assessment policy applies.

 

            NOTE:  Home Club Membership will be for the full skating year July 1^st to June 30^th (or the portion of the year remaining after joining).  There will be no refunds of membership dues.

 

ALL MEMBERS in good standing agree to:

• Pay dues on time (a penalty will be assessed if late)
• Participate in all fund-raising activities
• Fulfill the eight or ten-hour shift required by all skaters and parent(s) at the Cranberry Open (YIC’s major competitive event) and other events
• An activity assessment of $100 per representing skater/family membership is required at time of membership.  This assessment will be returned upon completion of volunteer requirements determined by your membership.  Upon completion of volunteer requirements, these fees can be applied to payment of ice or applied to next year’s assessment.
• Abide by all the rules regarding Club Ice Sessions
• Abide by the YIC Skater’s Code of Conduct
• U.S. Figure Skating is the national organization governing amateur skating in this country.  All members of the YIC are required to join and support this organization.  Membership includes a subscription to “Skating” magazine and is included in all representing YIC memberships.
• Please remember that all Single memberships for skaters under 18 are entitled to U.S. Figure Skating membership for one parent paid for by the Yarmouth Ice Club.  Membership for both parents is paid for by YIC when you sign up for a Family membership.
