Membership

MEMBERSHIP CLASSIFICATIONS & FEES
July 2010 - June 2011

1.  FAMILY SKATING MEMBERSHIP * - $250   (Plus USFS Fees:  $40-1st family member; $15-each subsequent family member)
Includes membership of all family members you wish to register in the immediate family, residing at the same address. This category will accrue seniority and entitles the members to:
•   Represent Yarmouth Ice Club
•   U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skaters/parents (USFS fees)
•   Ice reservation privileges on club session at Home Club rates & discount on Bog sessions
•   YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events
•   Testing privileges on all YIC Test Sessions at member rates
•   Voting (2 votes per family)
•   Eligible for club awards, grants and Scholarships (home club members only)
•   YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club
•   15 hours volunteer shift required by both skater and parent at Cranberry Open and other events and fundraisers.

2.  SINGLE  HOME  CLUB  MEMBERSHIP * - $200   (Plus USFS Fees:  $40 - 1st family member; $15-one parent)
Membership is for one skater and one parent.  This category will accrue seniority and entitles the member to:
•   U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skater/parents (USFS fees)
•   Ice reservation privileges on club sessions at Home Club Rates & discount on Bog sessions
•   YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events
•   Testing privileges on all YIC Test Sessions at member rates
•   Voting (under 18 delegate to parent)
•   Eligible for club awards, grants & scholarships (home club members only)
•   YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club
•   15 hours volunteer shift required by both skater and parent at Cranberry Open and other events and fundraisers

3.  JUNIOR  MEMBERSHIP (BRIDGE)* - $50   (Plus USFS Fee:  $40)
Membership for one skater for no more than 3 years unless board approved. 
•   Junior skater that has yet to test at the pre-preliminary level.  If and when skater takes pre-preliminary tests, the Single Membership fee will be pro-rated and one parent membership will be added.
•   U.S. Figure Skating membership for skater only (USFS fee)
•   Ice reservation privileges on Club sessions at Home Club rates & discount on Bog sessions
•   YIC Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events
•   Represents YIC at Basic Skills competitions
•   No voting privileges
•   Eligible for club awards, grants & scholarships (home club members only)
•   YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club
•   15 hours volunteer service required by both skater and parent at Cranberry Open and other events and fundraisers

4.  ADULT  MEMBERSHIP * - $100   (Plus USFS Fee:  $40)
Skaters must be 21 years or older
•   Represent Yarmouth Ice Club at Adult Competitions
•   U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skater (USFS Fee)
•   Ice reservation privileges on club sessions at Home Club rates & discount on Bog sessions
•   YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events
•   Voting privileges
•   Eligible for club awards & grants (home club members only)
•   YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club
•   15 hours of volunteer service across major club events (shows, exhibitions, Cranberry Open, etc.)

5.  PROFESSIONAL  MEMBERSHIP - $100.00   (Includes USFS Fee of $40 for home club membership)
Professional members must be approved by the YIC Board and agree to abide by the YIC Professional Code of Conduct. This membership class is for the skating professional and entitles the member to:
•   Teaching privileges on club ice
•   Social Events
•   Home club membership to include U.S. Figure Skating membership (USFS membership fee included)
•   Shall participate in club Learn To Skate program by donating a minimum 2 hours per week of coaching time
•   YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club
•   Volunteer at competitions and shows.  Failure to participate will result in $100 fee.
Professionals will also have to register with USFS and PSA as a coach and complete the paperwork and fees involved with the coach registration system which includes a CORI check.  This is in addition to membership fees.

6.  ASSOCIATE  MEMBERSHIP - $35   (Plus USFS Fee:  $40)
This membership is for supporters who wish to maintain YIC and U.S. Figure Skating membership and entitles the member to:
•   U.S. Figure Skating Membership (USFS fee)
•   No voting privileges

7.  COLLEGIATE MEMBERSHIP - $150   (Plus USFS Fee:  $70 – membership for 4 years) One time fee for 4 years!
This membership is for full time college students who wish to maintain YIC and U.S. Figure Skating membership. This membership entitles the member to:
•  US Figure Skating membership (USFS fee)
•  No voting privileges

8.  HONORARY MEMBERSHIP - No charge
This type of membership is appointed by the Board. 
•   Home Club Members enjoy home club privileges.  Non-representing members do not.
•   Voting privileges

9.  THEATER-ON-ICE MEMBERSHIP - $50
This membership fee is for non-home club skaters who wish to participate in a Theater-on-Ice Team.  The team is open to skaters of all ages and abilities.  This fee covers team membership only.  Skaters should have passed the Pre-preliminary moves or Preliminary Compulsory Dance tests.  All other costs of team membership will be covered separately.  The cost of the season will be determined by the number of team members (minimum 8, maximum 30) and includes:  all costumes (YIC retains ownership of all costumes), scenery, entry fees and practice ice, coaches fee and travel reimbursement to competitions, USFS TOI team membership.

 

*$100.00 Activity Assessment policy applies.

NOTE: Home Club Membership will be for the full skating year July 1st to June 30th (or the portion of the year remaining after joining).
There will be no refunds of membership dues.
ALL MEMBERS in good standing agree to:
• Pay dues on time (a penalty will be assessed if late)
• Participate in all fund-raising activities
• Fulfill the eight or ten-hour shift required by all skaters and parent(s) at the Cranberry Open and other events
• An activity assessment of $100 per representing skater/family membership is required at time of membership. This assessment may be returned or applied to next year’s assessment upon completion of volunteer requirements.
• Abide by all the rules regarding Club Ice Sessions and Arena regulations and abide by the YIC Skater’s Code of Conduct.

U.S. Figure Skating is the national organization governing amateur skating in this country. All members of the YIC are required to join and support this organization. USFS Membership also includes a subscription to “Skating” magazine.
