Membership

This year, Yarmouth Ice Club will use EntryEeze to process new and renewal memberships.  The online program will be ready by June 15, 2016.  Current YIC members will receive a notice with logon information from Yarmouth Ice Club.  Follow the instructions and process your “paperwork” on line.  Please contact Kara Moss at kmoss713@gmail.com or Lee Murray at leemurray644@comcast.net if you have any questions.

The membership categories and guidelines for 2016/2017 are as follows:
1.  FAMILY MEMBERSHIP – $325 (Plus $100 Activity Fee for New Members Only)

The Family Skating Membership includes membership for up to 3 family members. Each additional member – $25.

This category will accrue seniority and entitles the members to:

  • Represent Yarmouth Ice Club as Home Club Member.
  • U.S. Figure Skating Membership for members of the family.
  • Ice reservation privileges on club sessions at Home Club rates & discount on Bog sessions if provided by the Bog.
  • Participation in YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events.
  • No charge for Skaters for Annual YIC Banquet and no show fee for 1st event at YIC Holiday or Spring Show!
  • Testing privileges on all YIC Test Sessions at member rates.
  • Voting (2 votes per family).
  • Eligible for club awards, grants and scholarships (home club members only).
  • 15 volunteer hours total required by family members

2.  SINGLE HOME CLUB MEMBERSHIP – $250 (Plus $100 Activity Fee for New Members Only)

The Single Skating Membership includes membership for one skater and one parent. This category will accrue seniority and entitles the member to:

  • Represent Yarmouth Ice Club as Home Club Member.
  • U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skater and one parent.
  • Ice reservation privileges on club session at Home Club rates & discount on Bog sessions if provided by the Bog.
  • Participation in YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events.
  • No charge for Skaters at Annual YIC Banquet and no show fee for 1st event at YIC Holiday or Spring Show.
  • Testing privileges on all YIC Test Sessions at member rates.
  • Voting (under 18 delegate to parent) 1 vote per membership.
  • Eligible for club awards, grants & scholarships (home club members only).
  • 15 volunteer hours total required by skater/parent.

3.  JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP – $125 (No activity fee)

The Junior Skating Membership includes membership for one skater and one parent. This membership cannot be extended beyond 3 years and the skater cannot have passed higher than the Preliminary Moves in the Field test at the start of the skating year (July 1st).

This category will accrue seniority and entitles the members to:

  • Represent Yarmouth Ice Club as Home Club Member.
  • U.S. Figure Skating membership for skater and one parent
  • Ice reservation privileges on club session at Home Club rates & discount on Bog sessions if provided by the Bog.
  • Participation in YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events.
  • No Charge for Skaters at Annual YIC Banquet.
  • No voting privileges.
  • Eligible for club awards, grants & scholarships (home club members only).
  • Skater must be less than 18 years of age.
  • 10 volunteer hours total required by skater/parent.

4.  INTRODUCTORY JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP – $55 (No Activity Fee)

The Introductory Skating Membership includes membership for one skater in their first year with a US Figure Skating Club.

  • U.S. Figure Skating membership for skater and one parent.
  • Invitation to participate in YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events.
  • Invitation to observe YIC sponsored events.
  • No voting privileges.
  • Skater must be less than 18 years of age.

5.  BRIDGE MEMBERSHIP – $30 (No Activity Fee)

The Bridge Membership is for skaters who participate in the bridge program.

  • U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Membership for skater.
  • Represent Yarmouth Ice Club as Home Club Member.
  • No voting privileges.
  • If skater decides to join a TOI team they then must upgrade to at least Introductory Junior Membership.

6.  ADULT MEMBERSHIP (18 years or older) – $100 (Plus $100 Activity Fee for New Members Only)

This category will accrue seniority and entitles the members to:

  • Represent Yarmouth Ice Club as Home Club Member
  • U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skater.
  • Ice reservation privileges on club session at Home Club rates & discount on Bog sessions if provided by the Bog.
  • Participation in YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events.
  • No Charge for Skaters at Annual YIC Banquet!
  • Voting privileges (1 vote per membership).
  • Eligible for club awards & grants.
  • YIC membership rates at the Kingsbury Club for skater.
  • 10 volunteer hours total required at YIC Events (Cranberry Open, Shows, and/or other events).

7.  PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP – $100.00 (No Activity Fee)

Professional members must be approved by the YIC Board and agree to abide by the YIC Professional Code of Conduct. We expect our coaches to continue their education by participating in seminars and other educational forums (i.e. PSA seminars).

This membership class is for the skating professional and entitles the member to:

  • Teaching privileges on club ice.
  • Participation in YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social events.
  • No charge for Home Club coaches at Annual YIC Banquet.
  • Home club membership to include U.S. Figure Skating membership.
  • Shall participate in club Learn To Skate program if club runs such a program.
  • Voting privileges (1 vote per home club membership).

Professionals will also have to register with USFS and PSA as a coach and complete the paperwork and fees involved with the coach registration system that includes, but not limited to a CORI check and CER. Copies of these will be held on file with the club. (This is in addition to membership fees).

8.  ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP – $100 (No Activity Fee)

This membership is for supporters who wish to maintain YIC and U.S. Figure Skating membership.

This membership entitles the member to:

  • Home club membership to include US figure Skating membership.
  • Voting privileges (1 per membership).
  • Participation in YIC Social Events.

 9.  COLLEGIATE MEMBERSHIP – $200 (One-time fee for 4 years) (No Activity Fee)

The Collegiate Membership is for full time college students who wish to maintain YIC as their Home Club.

This membership entitles the member to:

  • Represent Yarmouth Ice Club as Home Club Member.
  • U.S. Figure Skating Membership for skater.
  • Ice reservation privileges on club session at Home Club rates & discount on Bog sessions if provided by the Bog.
  • Participation in YIC Ice Shows, Exhibitions and Social Events Note: No Charge for Skaters at Annual YIC Banquet!
  • Voting privileges (1 per membership).
  • Eligible for club awards & grants (home club members only).

10.  HONORARY MEMBERSHIP – No charge

This type of membership is appointed by the Board.

  • Home Club Members enjoy home club privileges. Non-representing members do not.
  • Voting privileges (1 per honorary home club member).

 11.  THEATER-ON-ICE MEMBERSHIP – $50

This membership fee is for non-YIC skaters who wish to participate in a YIC Theater-on-Ice Team

This fee covers team membership only. Test requirements are based on the level of the team. All other costs of team membership will be covered separately. The cost of the season will be determined by the number of team members (minimum 8, maximum 24) and includes: all costumes (YIC retains ownership of all costumes), scenery, entry fees and practice ice, coaches fee and travel reimbursement to competitions, USFS TOI team membership. This membership fee does not include USFS membership.

  • 5 volunteer hours total required by skater/parent.

 NOTE: Home Club Membership will be for the full skating year July 1st to June 30th (or the portion of the year remaining after joining). There will be no refunds of membership dues.

ALL MEMBERS in good standing agree to:

  • Pay dues on time (a penalty will be assessed if late).
  • Abide by all the rules regarding Club Ice Sessions and Arena regulations and abide by the YIC Skater’s Code of Conduct.
  • U.S. Figure Skating is the national organization governing amateur skating in this country. Your USFS Membership also includes a subscription to “Skating” magazine.
